*This is a smooth salsa with mild-medium heat
Ingredients:
- 1 can (28 oz) whole tomatoes – drained
- 2 cans (10 oz each) diced tomatoes with green chilies – drained
- 1/3 C onion – chopped
- 1/8 C cilantro – finely chopped
- 1 lime – juiced
- 2 tsp garlic – minced
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp garlic salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- For extra spicy salsa – add 1/2 to 1 jalapeño – finely chopped
Directions:
- Combine all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor
- Pulse until you get a nice consistency
- Taste – add more spices, as needed
Notes:
- Refrigerate salsa for at least 1 hour before serving to help marinate the flavors
