Ingredients:
- 2 C semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 C (1 stick) butter – cut into pieces
- 3 eggs
- 1-1/4 C flour
- 1 C sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 C chopped walnuts – optional
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Lightly grease a 13″ x 9″ x 2″ baking pan
- In a large heavy saucepan over low heat, melt 1 C chocolate chips and butter
- Stir until smooth
- Remove from heat
- Add eggs
- Stir well
- Add flour, sugar, baking soda and vanilla
- Stir well
- Stir in remaining 1 C chocolate chips and if using, chopped walnuts
- Spread into a lightly greased baking pan
- Bake at 350 degrees for 18-22 minutes, check at 15 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (be careful not to over cook, or the brownies will not be soft & chewy)
- Cool in pan & cut into squares
