• 8 oz cream cheese – softened to room temperature
  • 3 Tbsp butter – softened to room temperature
  • 2/3 C brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 C powdered sugar


  1. In a mixing bowl or a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the cream cheese, butter, and brown sugar at medium speed until creamy, about 1 to 2 minutes
  2. Add the vanilla and salt and beat until blended
  3. Reduce the mixer speed to low
  4. Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating just until combined
  5. Increase the mixer speed to high
  6. Beat 1 additional minute or until smooth
