Ingredients:

For the Cake – dry ingredients:

  • 1 C sugar
  • 1-1/2 C flour 
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Cake – wet ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 C cold water

For the Frosting:

  • 3 Hershey Candy Bars (1.55 oz each)

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Lightly grease an 8″ glass baking dish with non-stick cooking spray
  3. Sift dry ingredients together directly into the baking dish
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the wet ingredients and add into the center of the dry ingredients
  5. Mix thoroughly with a fork (if using a metal pan, be careful, the fork may scratch your pan)
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for approx. 30 minutes, until a toothpick in the center comes out clean
  7. Cool for 15 minutes
  8. Break up Hershey Bars and put on top of the cake
  9. Allow to melt and then spread to cover
