Ingredients:
For the Cookies:
- 1 stick (1/2 C) unsalted butter – softened to room temperature
- 2 C sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2/3 C sour cream
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 4 C flour
For the Frosting:
- 1 stick (1/2 C) unsalted butter – softened to room temperature
- 1/4 C sour cream
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 C powdered sugar
- Sprinkles or sugar crystals for decorating
Directions:
Make the Cookies:
- Line cookie sheets with parchment paper – set aside
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- With a mixer beat butter and sugar until creamy
- Add eggs, vanilla and sour cream, beat until smooth
- Add in baking soda, baking powder and flour, beat on low until incorporated – dough will be really soft, almost like a cake batter
- Drop onto prepared cookie sheets by heaping teaspoons 2-3 inches apart
- Bake for 8-10 mins or until edges are golden and centers are set
- Cool on a wire rack
Make the Frosting:
- Beat the butter until creamy
- Stir in sour cream and vanilla
- Add powdered sugar gradually, beat until smooth
- Frost and Sprinkle with sprinkles or sugar crystals
