Ingredients:
For the Biscuits:
- 1 can (8 count) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
- 1 (21 oz) can premium apple pie filling
- 1/2 C (1 stick) butter – melted
- 1/2 C light brown sugar – firmly packed
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 C walnut or pecan pieces – optional
For the Glaze:
- 1 C powdered sugar
- 2 tsp milk or cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees

Melt the butter, and use a little bit to brush all sides of a 10-inch cast iron skillet

In a bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg until blended

Dip each biscuit in the butter, and sprinkle all sides with the cinnamon sugar mixture

Arrange side by side in the skillet

Cut the apples in the pie filling into smaller pieces

Mix in 1 tsp vanilla

Arrange apples over the biscuits

Pour the remaining butter over the apples

Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar on top
- Place a baking sheet under the skillet – in case it bubbles over (mine always does)

Bake for 30 – 35 minutes, until golden and puffy

Meanwhile, make the glaze by mixing together the powdered sugar, vanilla and milk

Fresh from the oven, drizzle hot biscuits with glaze – serve hot
