Ingredients:
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 large onion – chopped
- 3 cloves garlic – minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 cans (16 oz each) red kidney beans – drained
- 1/3 C chili powder* (see notes)
- 1 tsp cumin* (see notes)
- 1 tsp salt* (see notes)
- 1 tsp pepper
Directions:
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, cook beef, onion and garlic for 8-10 minutes, or until no pink remains in the beef
- Drain off excess liquid – discard
- Add remaining ingredients
- Mix well
- Cover and reduce heat to low
- Simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally
Notes:
- Serve topped with sour cream and shredded cheese
- You can substitute the chili powder, cumin & salt (still add the pepper) with 1 pkg of Dry Chili Seasoning Mix – I use Lawry’s Brand
