*You will need a 6 count donut pan to make this recipe
Ingredients:
For the Donut Batter:
- 3/4 C flour
- 2 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1/3 C sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/3 C buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
For the Topping:
- 3 Tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 C sugar + 1 tsp cinnamon (mixed together)
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Grease a 6 count donut pan with non-stick spray
- Whisk together flour, cornstarch, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a mixing bowl
- In a small bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla
- Add to the dry mixture to the wet mixture and stir just until combined – do not over mix!
- Spoon batter into a ziplock bag and snip off the corner
- Squeeze the batter evenly into the six donut wells, so the donuts will bake evenly
- Bake at 375 degrees for 11-12 minutes – check at 10 minutes
- Let cool for a couple minutes, then remove to cooling racks
- While still warm, brush all sides of each donut with melted butter
- Dip in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated
