*This is a smooth salsa with mild-medium heat

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (28 oz) whole tomatoes – drained
  • 2 cans (10 oz each) diced tomatoes with green chilies – drained
  • 1/3 C onion – chopped
  • 1/8 C cilantro – finely chopped
  • 1 lime – juiced
  • 2 tsp garlic – minced
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • For extra spicy salsa – add 1/2 to 1 jalapeño – finely chopped

Directions:

  1. Combine all of the ingredients into a blender or food processor
  2. Pulse until you get a nice consistency
  3. Taste – add more spices, as needed

Notes:

  1. Refrigerate salsa for at least 1 hour before serving to help marinate the flavors
